LangChain
Libraries and a platform, including LangGraph, for building agents in code.
Also known as LangGraph, LangSmith
What it does
LangChain is the common starting point when an engineer wants to build an agent rather than use one. The open libraries cover model calls, tools, and orchestration, and LangGraph is the piece for stateful, long-running agents. LangSmith is their hosted tracing product. The libraries can be used without a paid plan; the hosted platform is priced separately. Confirm current platform pricing.
Who is LangChain for?
Engineers building their own agents and who want code-level control.
